Derebail Church Choir Annual Picnic 2019
Derebail Parish Choir is one dynamic group that consists of members all all ages. It is indeed one of the most active associations of the Parish , helping in the smooth functioning of the liturgy. A day's outing was organised for this group. About 50 members of the Elders, Youth and Children's Choir Group had hopped on to the picnic bus on May 27, 2019. The Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Austin Peris and the Resident Rev. Fr. Gratian Alvares too joined the picnicking team.
Breakfast was arranged in the Church premise at 07.30 AM. The group then moved onto visit three majestic churches . The Syrian Church in Brahmavar was indeed an artistic treat to the eye. The two other churches at Perampally and Kalmady too were beautiful . The next destination was Vinod Villa near Vadapandeshwar, Thottam. Mrs Jessy Martis and fly treated the members well at her residence. Post lunch a series of games were conducted by the volunteers of the Youth Choir Group.
The members were served fresh fruits by the senior choir members. The members then headed towards Thottam beach. Both the young and the not so old enjoyed playing in the water. The picnic troupe wound up their day's activities at sunset n started off to reach Derebail Church at 8 PM. The Parish Priest offered to treat the choir members with ice cream. While on the bus , the members sang , danced and made merry. The picnic was indeed a grand success.
