‘Altari Laggim’ - Training Camp for Altar Boys

The Commission for Vocation and Priestly Formation of Most Holy Redeemer Church, Derebail, organised a training program for the Altar boys entitled ‘Altari Laggim’ on 14th August 2022 in the Church Meeting Hall. The Resource Person of the camp, Fr Rupesh Madtha, Fr Gerald Pinto, Sanchalk of the above Commission and the Prefect of Altar Boys, Master Swedan were present on the Stage for the inaugural function. Fr Gerald Pinto introduced the Resource Person to the gathering and wished success on his behalf and that of the Parish Priest, Fr Joseph Martis. Besides giving basic skills of serving the Mass and other liturgical celebrations, Fr Madtha facilitated the training sessions with activities like action songs, individual and group games. Practical hints were given such as the method of incensing, ringing bell, serving during offertory and so on. Altar Boys were highly motivated and enthused thus manifested great interest to learn. 41 altar boys took part in the training programme. The programme concluded at 12.35 pm with the meal.
