Ward Day Celebration - Land Links Upper Back

LandLinks Upper Ward is one among the most active wards of the parish filled enthusiastic elders and capable youngsters. The Ward Day of this ward was held on the 25th of February, 2017. The celebrations began with a thanksgiving mass offered at Most Holy Redeemer Church, Derebail at 5 P.M on the same day.

The ward members later gathered together at the Mini Hall of the Parish. The chief guests for this programme were the Parish Priest, Rev.Fr.Austin Peris; the Resident Priest, Fr.Gratian Alvares; the Vice President of the Parish Pastoral Council, Mr Edward Coelho and the Secretary of the Parish Pastoral Council, Mrs.Lizzie Fernandes. The Gurkar Mr. Ephrem Castelino welcomed the guests with roses.

Mr.Ronald Vaz compered. Mrs Shobha Mendonca placed before the guests and the ward members a concise yet lucid report on the events and activities the ward had undertaken over the year. Entertainment followed. Dances were performed and games were conducted. Couples who completed 25 years of marriage were honoured. Also, gifts were presented to children who had won prizes in various events.

The Parish Priest addressed the gathering and gave them a reminder that the ward member ought to be a part and parcel in the activities the church conducts and be of aid to the church whenever needed. Mr.Edward Coelho too addressed the gathering. Fr.Gratian said the grace before meals after which the ward members were served food. Baila session followed.
