Disaster from muddy roads averted: Parapade Hills ward unites for a social cause

The ward members of Parapade Hills during the ward meeting on 19 February decided to clear the mud from the inner roads in Parapade area. The muddy roads has been an increasing cause of concern for a long time now. It was causing a lot of inconvenience to the motorists and other commutors, especially during the rainy season when the roads would be innundated.

As decided, the members gathered at the spot with shovels, pick axes, brooms and buckets soon after the meeting. The cleaning began at 5.30PM with much excitement, happiness and enthusiasm.

A few of the Hindu localites joined in the noble cause. One of the Hindu families near the affected spot, helped the warm members by supplying water to spray on the road while digging and sweeping.

The team continued cleaning and cracked some jokes. The task got completed by 6.20PM. The ward members departed to their respective houses by 6.30PM.

This initiative definitely improved the relationship among the ward members and provided them with a fun break after a long week. It also sent out a message that community services like these helps not only to keep the environment clean but also contributes towards greater good of the society.
