Youth CLC organised Life Skills Training Programme 

The Youth Christian Life Community of Derebail parish had organised a Life Skills training programme on the 7th and 8th of October 2019 for the children of the parish from classes 4 to 9.

The event began at 09:30 AM with a formal Inauguration  of the training programme. The Chief guests Mrs. Irene Rebello, Residential priest Rev. Fr. Gratian Alvares, Secretary of the parish Council Mrs.Lizzy Fernandes along with Youth CLC president, Ms. Adriel Quadros inaugurated the event by watering a plant. Fr. Gratian Alvares gave the Presidential address. The children were engaged in activities for the next two days. Mrs Irene Rebello, the Resource Person conducted certain activities for the children with each activity emphasizing the importance of certain value or etiquette. The children were divided into 5 groups. To keep the children in a happy mood, they were made to sing action songs.The Children were also brought together as a team in the outdoor activity that was conducted post lunch.

A session on First Aid was conducted by Dr. Alfreeda on the second day of the programme. Children were engaged in activities like collage making. A quiz was conducted in order to let the children realize the importance of general knowledge. The children were given time to practice for Variety Programme, in which the children performed explicitly well. The camp ended with a prayer service and valedictory programme. Prizes were distributed to groups who performed well on both the days. Participation certificates were given to all children who attended the training programme. The children were provided with refreshments and lunch on both the days of the camp. These two days did help the children in being active participants, creative thinkers and above all better human beings. The children participated with alot of enthusiasm and zeal.
