Sakath - Kursa Jezu Sangi Poin Back

Just as how the hope of the nation lies in the youth, the same way the future of the church lies in the hands of spiritually strong and confident youth. To enable the youth experience the power of Christ in their life and feel confident and face the innumerable examinations that they come across in their life’s journey, the YSD members of Most Holy Redeemer Church organized “ SAKATH”-Kursa Jezu Sangi Poin. SAKATH was held in the Most Holy Redeemer Church, Derebail on 22nd March, 2015 from 5to 7 P.M.

A lot of preparation was done by the YSD members for the success of this spiritual event. Invites were distributed and the youth and children of the parish were cordially invited. The Assistant Parish Priest Rev.Fr.Vinod Lobo addressed the youth and children asking them to relax and prepare themselves for the healing that they were going to experience.  To begin with, the YSD members conducted the Way of the Cross, each station emphasizing the different problems that the Youth of our country face. Problems like victimization of youth to rape, drinking, smoking etc were brought to the fore. Each station was led by a youth. Special prayers were made for all those who have fallen a prey to these sufferings. The purpose of the Stations of the Cross was to help the faithful make in spirit, as it were, a pilgrimage to the chief scenes of Christ’s sufferings and death as well. The entire Way of the Cross was done using the aid of Audio Visual. This was followed by the Thanksgiving prayers. The youth thanked the Lord for giving them the gift of life, for showering them with immense blessings in the form of their parents, families, teachers, their spiritual guides etc.

Subsequently the Assistant Parish Priest, Rev.Fr.Vinod Lobo led the adoration where all the devotees knelt down and prayed fervently. The youth also placed their intentions in front of the almighty in the form of Prayers of the faithful. The entire spiritual event called “SAKATH’’ was solemnized by the Youth Choir. The Parish Priest, Rev.Fr.Peter Dsouza assured the devotees that their prayers would be answered and he also expressed his joy looking at the presence of the youth and children in large numbers. It was not just the youth and the children who had graced the occasion but there were also the other parishioners. The YSD President, Sheldon Alvares rendered his words of gratitude to all those who had contributed to the success of this special spiritual endeavor.
