The Catechism Day was celebrated on Sunday 23rd February 2020 at Most Holy Redeemer Church Derebail. The Eucharistic mass was celebrated at 9:15 am by Rev Fr Alwyn Sequiera. The liturgy was led by the children and all took part in this Eucharistic celebration. In his homily Fr Alwyn said "Be holy because I, the Lord your God am holy" so we need to be holy by following His will.

The cultural programme was organised in the Parish Hall at 3.30 PM. The programme began with a prayer song sung by the catechism teachers. Fr.Gratian welcomed the gathering. A Bible magic show was presented by Fr Ivan Madtha and his sister Sr. Doris. Amisha Rodrigues, Christon Menezes from Ycs and Brayan Mendonca of 10th Std shared their experience of Sunday catechism. Mrs Sharmila Mascarenhas on behalf of the teachers shared the beautiful experience of teaching Sunday Catechism to the Children. Fr Austin addressed the gathering and appreciated the parents and children for their whole hearted cooperation in the mission of Sunday catechism. The dignitaries present on the Dias were Fr Austin Peres Parish Priest, Fr Gratian Alvares Residential Priest, Fr Gerald Pinto Residential Priest, Mrs Sheela D'Souza the Vice president of Parish Pastoral Council, Mr Gaulbert Pais the Secretary of Parish Pastoral Council, Fr Ivan Madtha and Mr. Edward Coelho Catechism Coordinator. The prizes were distributed to the children for excelling in catechism exam, full attendance and for workbook.As a part of encouraging the little children to sacrifice and make their contribution to misson Sunday a collection box was allotted to every child. These boxes were returned with the offerings of the little children. Special prizes were given to the children who had collected the maximum amount. Catechism teachers were also felicitated for their selfless service on Sunday's for teaching students. Miss Anu D'Silva compered the programme and Mr Edward Coelho proposed the vote of thanks. The programme concluded with a hymn.
