Catholic Sabha Conducts Elocution Competition

Catholic Sabha, Derebail unit organised an Elocution Competition on 23rd October, 2022 at 5.00 pm in the Church Meeting Hall. The competition began with prayer.

The rules of the competition were read and explained by Ms. Dora D'cunha in detail. The competition was conducted in four categories.

The topic for the first category in Konkani was 'Muzho Eest' (My Friend). There were 5 participants in this category and among them Charishma Paolo Castelino won first place, Hosanna Eva Alvares second, Marissa Moras third. 

The topic for the second category in Konkani was        'Mujhen lisavn' (My Studies).  There were 3 participants in this category and first place was won by Ancia Andrade, second by Ethel D'souza, third by Riva J. D'silva.

The topic for the third category in Konkani was     'Dharmikan thoyn muzho gaurav' (My Respect towards Religious Leaders). There were 6 participants in this category and among them first place was won by Chelsia Pearl Castelino, second by Reon Pinto and third by Angelica Andrade.

The topic for the fourth category  in Kannada was 'Nanna Jeevanadalli Shikshakara Paatra' (Teacher's role in my life). There were 2 participants and first place was won by Ammabel Florine D'Cunha, second by Alma Lathisa Pinto.

The competition was presided by the Parish Priest Fr. Joseph Martis,  Secretary Ms. Juliana Coelho, Vice president Ms. Shaila Noronha of Catholic Sabha Derebail Unit, Vice President of PPC Ms. Sheela D'souza, as Judges Mr. James D'souza from Bondel Parish, Ms. Philomena Tauro from Angelore Parish were the other dignitaries. The guests were welcomed by Ms. Shaila D'souza.
The winners of the competition were announced by Ms. Pramila Furtado and the prizes were given by the Guests of the day.
Fr. Joseph addressed the participants and their parents with a message. 
The children who bagged first and second prizes in this competition qualify for the Varado level competition to be held on 20th November 2022 at Vamanjoor Unit. 
Vote of thanks was delivered by the Secretary, Ms. Juliana Coelho and the competition was compered by Ms. Benedicta D'Cunha.
