Gollachil Ward Enjoys a Memorable Day out at Mulki, River Shine

24th May 2026 was a memorable day for the members of Gollachil ward as it was their annual picnic after a long gap.

The ward members embarked on a day's picnic to River Shine Resort, Mulky. A Total of 46 members participated in the outing.

The ward members assembled at the church ground at 8.00 am. The journey began with a short prayer led by  the Assistant Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Steevan Nelson Peris and his blessings for a joyful and memorable day. A special bus was arranged. The journey began with singing on the bus.

On arrival,  the resort owner Mr. Arun extended a warm welcome and breakfast was served.

After  a nourishing breakfast the members set sail in 2 groups. All enjoyed the boat ride. The entertainment and recreation featured various activities that encouraged fellowship and participation including, kayaking, rain dance, swimming and various indoor and outdoor games.

Gurkar Arun and Sunitha successfully  conducted various  fun frolic super games. His dedication, planning and ability in bringing the members together was commended by the ward members.The winners  were congratulated. Gurkar Arun Pinto then gave away the prizes to the winners of the group. 

 Quiz was conducted by the ward Secretary Mrs. Jacintha Mascarenhas and the winners received the prizes from the ward's former Gurkar Mr. Valerian Mascarenhas.

After a sumptuous lunch the ward members spent quality time playing cricket , badminton, throwball, interacting with the other groups and  also taking photographs. 

Housie Housie was conducted by the owner of the resort and he kept everybody  energised and engaged. The winners were congratulated and the prizes distributed by him.

In the end, Gurkar Arun Pinto, expressed his gratitude to the organizers and thanked them for arranging the picnic well.

After the evening tea break, the group had a small baila session. The members then began their return journey at 5.30 pm and reached Derebail Parish at 6.15 pm. 

Overall the picnic was a memorable, refreshing experience for all the members. They thoroughly enjoyed the picnic and wished to arrange such outings often to feel energetic, cheerful and happy.
