Children of Barebail upper ward lead the SCC Prayer Meeting
 

The SCC Prayer Meeting of the Barebail Upper Ward was held at the residence of Mr. Paul and Mrs. Evelyn Pais on 19th July 2026 at 4.30 p.m. The prayer gathering was beautifully conducted by the children of the ward, making it a joyful, inspiring, and faith-filled occasion for everyone present.

The meeting commenced with a hymn, following which Nathan Pais warmly welcomed the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Joseph Martis, Ward Gurkar Mr. Alwyn Pais, and all those gathered. Nathan then prayerfully led the congregation through the Seven Steps of the SCC meeting. The Scripture passage from Romans 8:9–11 was read by Allan Serrao and baby Ava. The children selected " *Holy Spirit"* as the Word to guide and inspire them in the coming days. Ava also rendered a beautiful hymn on the flute, creating a serene and prayerful atmosphere. The children participated throughout the service with prayers and devotion.

The gathering was attended by 11 children, 15 ladies, 10 men including Rev. Fr. Joseph Martis. 

In his message, Rev.Fr. Martis congratulated the children for conducting the prayer service with  confidence and devotion. He also appreciated the parents and ward members for encouraging the children to actively participate in the life and mission of the Church. He further remarked that it is always a blessing to have children actively involved in SCC prayer meetings, as their presence brings joy, liveliness, and strengthens the faith of the entire community.

Mrs. Janet Pais conducted fun-filled games for the children, after which each child enthusiastically presented a short enactment. Mr. Naveen Pais and Mrs. Janet Pais distributed gifts to all the children for their enthusiastic participation in the games.

Mrs. Irene Martis, Ward Secretary, presented the report of the previous month's SCC meeting. 
As a gesture of appreciation and encouragement, Special gifts sponsored by the ward members were presented to every child. Allan Serrao delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks on behalf of the children.
Mr. Alwyn Pais encouraged all ward members to motivate and bring their children to the forthcoming SCC prayer meetings so that they too could actively participate and grow in faith.
Mrs. Irene Martis proposed the formal vote of thanks, expressing her sincere gratitude to Rev. Fr. Joseph Martis, the host family, the children, their parents, and all the ward members for their wholehearted support and participation.

Refreshments, generously sponsored by the Ward Gurkar, were served to everyone present. The prayer meeting concluded with a beautiful hymn in honour of Mother Mary. The meeting ended on a joyful note, with everyone deeply appreciating the children's wholehearted involvement and looking forward to many more such meaningful and faith-filled initiatives.
