Sports Day at Derebail on 29-09-2019

Catholic Sabha Mangalore Pradesh (R), Derebail Unit in Association with Derebail Church Sports Club (DPSC) conducted Sports Day at Derebail on 29th of September 2019 from 10.30 am to 5.30 pm.

Fr. Austin Peter Peres, Parish Priest of Derebail Church and Spiritual Director of Catholic Sabha City Varado, Fr. Gratian Alvares, Resident Priest of Derebail Church, Mr. Edward Coelho, Vice President of Derebail Church, Mr. Paul Moras, Vice President of Catholic Sabha Derebail, Mr. Victor Correa, President of Catholic Sabha, City Varado, Mr. Sandesh Mascarenhas, President of Sports Club were the guests on the Dias.

Fr. Gratian Alvares led the Invocation Ceremony. Fr. Austin Peter Peres inaugurated the sports. The events for age group 1-17 years were conducted category wise by the Sports Club, Derebail.

For those in the above 18 years category games were conducted by the Catholic Sabha. Parishioners of all age groups participated with great enthusiasm.

Breakfast and lunch was provided during sports by the organisers with the aid from certain Well Wishers.

The Guests distributed the prizes. This was partly a inter-parish sports event for above 18 years arranged by Catholic Sabha Mangalore.

The winners of above 18 years are to participate at Varado and Diocesan level.

Mrs. Pramila Furtado was the Coordinator. The entire event was well conducted. The participants were sportive enough to accept both victory and defeat in the same manner. The event was indeed a grand success.
