Inter-Ward Hymns Choral Singing Competition Back

On the occasion of ‘The Year of Community’ Christian Life Community (youth) of our parish had organized an Inter-Ward ‘Hymns Choral Competition’ on 30^th of July 2017 in the Church Hall.

The formal programme commenced at 5:00 pm with a prayer song followed by lamp lighting. Our Parish Priest Fr. Austin Peres presided the programme. Residential Priest Fr.Gratian Alvares, Chief Guest accompanied by Mr.Edward Coelho - Vice President, Mrs.Lizzy Fernandes - Secretary of the Parish Pastoral Council along with Mr.Ullas D’costa, Animator and Denzil Pinto - President of Youth CLC, Derebail were the guests of Honour. President of the programme addressed the gathering and encouraged the Parishioners to take active part in ward and church activities and to live an exemplary life in the Community.

Among 22 Wards, 19 wards participated in the competition with spirit of great enthusiasm. Prizes secured were as follows:

1. Konchady 1^st  and  Parapade upper ward
2. Derebail  ward
3. Gollachil ward

Consolation:

1. Church ward
2. Highway ward    
3. Landlinks upper ward                                                                                                                                         

Mementos were awarded to all the wards that participated.

Mr.Alwyn Noronha, Mrs.Edith D’souza and Mr. Maxim Pereira judged the competition.

The Programme Co-ordinators, Mr. Akash Cornelio welcomed the gathering and Ms.Joslin D’cunha delivered the vote of thanks. Ms.Sharrel Veigas compered the programme.
