Inauguration of the Parish Pastoral Council Back

Our Parish Pastoral council is a representation of our parishioners elected from different and Head of various organizations of the church. The purpose of the Parish Pastoral Council is to enhance the process of:

• Pastoral Planning
• Developing Pastoral Programmes
• Improving Pastoral services
• Evaluating the Pastoral effectiveness of various programs and services

The Parish Pastoral Council assists the Parish Priest to smoothly fulfill his pastoral duties as the Head of the Parish.

Mr. Anil Patrao, Vice President and Mr. Edward Coelho, Secretary were sworn in on 26^th of January 2014 by the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Peter D’souza in the presence of the parishioners. The Council also consists of 22 Gurkars and 42 Ward representatives, 7 nominated members and 9 members by Office.

Mr. Anil Patrao was the Past Secretary of the Parish Pastoral Council. He has been a youth leader and a great organizer. While he has inherited his talent in music and singing from his father, Mr. Joachim Patrao, his teaching talents and qualities have come from his mother Mrs. Monica Patrao who has been a teacher.  Along with his wife Wilma and children Larissa and Lorraine, he was residing in Land Links lower ward for 12 years and currently resides in Church ward. He has been the choir master since the inception of the Derebail choir and has not only built an organized choir but also been instrumental is discovering new talents. He has organized several Music and cultural programmes. The numerous events organized as the Convener of the Parish Platinum Jubilee Committee is a witness to his organizing and leadership skills. Writing lyrics, composing music and singing has been his exceptional talent.  He has been popular with people for organizing events like Patrao Nite along with his brother.  His yeomen service to the parish for the past several years has made him the best choice for the Vice president of the Parish Pastoral Council.

Mr. Edward Coelho from Kapikad Ward has been elected as the Secretary of the Parish Pastoral Committee for the 3^rd time on the strength of his service to the parish for the past 40 years. He is a great organizer and knowledgeable person and was instrumental in establishing the Small Christian Community in the Parish. He was convener of the Central Committee of the Small Christian community for 12 years. He was the president of the Church Choir, has served as the President of the Catholic Saba for a long time. He contributes immensely to every programme of the parish and his ward.

The Finance Committee consists of 12 members exclusive of the Parish Priest, Assistant Parish Priest, Vice President and Secretary who help in the temporal affairs of the Parish took the oath of secrecy.
