A Day Out for the Choir Members of Derebail  Church at Caribbean River Resort, Mulki, Mangalore

On October 31, 2024, the members of the Derebail Church Choir enjoyed a delightful day out at the Caribbean River Resort in Chitrap, Mulki, Mangalore. The picnic began with everyone gathering at the Derebail Church, where the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Joseph Martis, offered prayers and blessings for a joyful and memorable day. A special bus was arranged for the forty-two participants.  

Upon arriving at the resort, the event commenced with a hymn, setting a peaceful and joyful tone for the day. Following breakfast, members dove into a series of fun-filled activities. A variety of games were organized by Sunitha, Lydia, Jescintha, Meghan, Alma, and Edward to keep everyone energized and engaged. The resort's location by the river, combined with a refreshing breeze, added to the enjoyment and comfort of the outing.

The day was filled with various games, skits, singing, folk dancing, and interaction, providing every member  with an opportunity to participate. Fr. Kevin’s message and warm interaction brought joy and laughter, encouraging everyone to fully enjoy themselves. Delicious food was provided, and snacks and refreshing  *panaka*, kept participants energized throughout the day.

A special highlight was the river play and rain dance, which delighted the children, while the Queen of sheeba and “Housie” game kept everyone entertained and involved. The photo sessions captured joyful moments, and both children and senior members found their own spaces to relax and connect. Evening tea served as the perfect boost to conclude the activities.

Singing together on the bus at the beginning and ride back and enjoying cones of ice cream added the finishing touch to a day that left everyone feeling young, energetic, and full of cheer. In the end, members expressed their gratitude to the organizers and thanked the Almighty through hymns and praises.
