Good Friday: Way of the Cross and Prayer

Good Friday is a day to commemorate the sacrifice of Jesus for the salvation of mankind. The parishioners of Most Holy Redeemer Church Derebail assembled at 8 AM for a prayer service at the Holy family school grounds.

Parish priest Rev. Fr. Joseph Martis led the prayer service. Rev.Fr.Gerald Pinto read the Word of God followed by a short reflection. The morning prayer was enchanted by the melodies of the church choir followed by Way of the cross. Youth and Women representatives of the parish carried the statues of Mother Mary and Jesus through all 14 stations. The Way of the Cross ended with concluding prayer. Towards the end Rev.Fr.Joseph Martis called upon the gathering to maintain silence throughout the day and reflect on the sufferings of Jesus who died for us. The faithful gathered, spent some time in front of the blessed altar arranged in the banquet hall in adoration,adding more devotion to the day of penance and fasting.
