Farewell to Fr. Austin Peres from Missionary Families of Christ

The Missionary Families of Christ (MFC) organised a farewell programme in the honour of Rev.Fr.Austin Peter Peres on 13 May, 2022 at the Parish Meeting Hall. The programme began at 7.30 PM. Mr.Gerald Castelino welcomed the dignitaries Fr.Austin Peres, Fr.Gerald Pinto, the Area Servant of MFC Mr.Melvin Fernandes and  his spouse Mrs.Neetha Fernandes. Mr.Gerald also extended a warm welcome to the other members of the MFC.

The programme began with invocation. Mr.Oswald and Mrs Theresa D'souza led the prayer service. Mr.Victor Correa, one among the senior members of MFC Mangalore, spoke on behalf of the MFC community and extended the gratitude of the entire community towards Fr.Austin for all the support that he had given during his tenure in Derebail Parish.

The Area Servant Mr.Melvin Fernandes iterated about Fr.Austin's  instrumental role in helping MFC organize programmes in the parish. Mr.Melvin exclaimed his joy that MFC would now be able to actively evangelize in Surathkal parish as Fr.Austin would be taking charge as Parish Priest there.

As a token of their gratitude Fr.Austin was then presented with a flower bouquet and shawl.

In response to the love shown by the MFC members , Fr.Austin expressed his gratitude. He assured his support and prayers in the future as well. 

The programme concluded with Fr.Austin blessing the members of the MFC community and a closing prayer.
