International Women's Day 2020

On the occasion of International Women's Day which is observed globally on the 8th of March, Most Holy Redeemer Church in Association with the Women's Association celebrated Women's Day on the 7th of March,2020. A Thanksgiving mass was offered at 5 P.M. after which the members of the Women's Association assembled at the Parish Meeting Hall at 6.30 P.M for a Cultural Programme. The dignitaries present for this event were Resident Priests Rev Fr. Gratian Alvares and Rev Fr Gerald Pinto; PPC Vice President Mrs Sheela D'Souza ;PPC Secretary Mr Gaulbert Pais; President of Diocesan Women's Association Mrs Terry Pais and the Resource Person Mrs Judy Pinto.

The President of the Women's Association, Mrs Celine Correa, welcome the gathering and initiated the formal inauguration of the programme by lighting the lamp. The Secretary of the Women's Association Mrs Benedicta D'cunha presented the Annual Report in front of the august gathering.

Dr Judy Pinto addressed the gathering on *The Value of Human Life* in great detail. She also highlighted the role that a woman plays in her society and how a woman should be treated with respect. Mrs Sheela D'Souza was felicitated by the members of the association for being the first Woman Vice President of the PPC. Mrs Sheela thanked and addressed the gathering. Recognizing her achievements as a woman who serves both the society and the parish , Mrs Ivy Pinto was also felicitated on the occasion. Fr Gratian Alvares addressed the audience on the occassion of Women's Day. Fr. Gerald Pinto offered grace before meals.

Mrs Denora and team led the prayer song. Mrs Felcy Lobo compered the programme. A short cultural programme was held. Mrs Dora D'cunha rendered the Vote of Thanks. This programme was indeed successful in bringing together women and making them feel important. A total of about 100 women were present for the programme
