Farewell to Parish Priest Rev.Fr.Austin Peres in the  First Annual General Body Meet of Senior Citizen Club

The first Annual General Body Meeting of the Senior Citizens Club was held on the 27th of April, 2022 at 4 PM. The Coordinator Mr. Edward Coelho placed the agenda of the meeting by giving a small introduction. He also whole heartedly welcomed the gathering. 

Mrs. Juliana Coelho presented the annual report. Mr. Gaulbert Pais placed on record the annual accounts. The Director of the club, Rev.Fr.Austin Peres conducted the Election as per by-laws.

Mr.Edward Coelho was unanimously elected as the President of the Club for the year 2022-23. Also, ten others were elected as members of the Governing Body of the Club. The Parish Priest shall be th Director of the Club as per by-law.

The election procedure was followed by a short Farewell Ceremony to Fr.Austin Peres. Mr. Edward Coelho recalled in his speech the fond memories and thoughtful work that took shape in the parish under Fr. Austin's leadership. Mr. Edward Coelho recognised Fr. Austin's important and influential role as a mentor in the lives of both the young and the old. A special mention was made of Fr.Austin's speech made at the previous meeting of the Senior Citizen Club.

The members of the club had brought flowers from their garden, which were later presented to Fr. Austin as a token of their love, gratitude and affection. A few others read out self-composed poems for the occasion while others honoured him with fruits and flowers.

Fr. Austin then addressed the gathering. He asked the members to continue following the steps that were spoken about in his previous (Tonic Talk) talk. He wished the club good luck and motivated them to work hard and become a model click to the Mangalore Diocese and Society.

Mr. Vincent Castelino expressed words of gratitude in his Vote of thanks. Rev.Fr. Austin ended the meeting with prayers and his blessings. Mr. Lawrence Alvares (Naveen Kulshekar) compered.
