Monthi Fest: Feast of the Nativity of Blessed Virgin Mary celebrated at Kottara Ward
The members of Kottara Ward celebrated 'Monthi Fest' on 17 September, 2022 at the residence of Mr.Robert and Mrs. Lizzy D'silva.
The celebration was preceded by the Ward Meeting at 6.30 P.M. Mr.Gerald Castelino led the meeting. Mrs.Marina Mascarenhas was the M.C. Mrs. Lizzy D'silva extended a warm welcome to all the ward members.
The Parish Priest Rev.Fr.Joseph Martis and Rev.Fr.Gerald Pinto graced the Monthi Fest celebrations that began at 7.30 P.M. Mr.Vincent Castelino formally welcomed the dignitaries. A short formal programme was then conducted. Teachers -those in their service and those who have retired-were felicitated to mark the occasion of Teachers Day.
The ward members along with the dignitaries joined in for a short prayer service to mark the Monthi Fest celebrations. Rev.Fr.Joseph Martis led the prayer and Rev.Fr.Gerald Pinto read the prayers of the faithful. Mrs. Letitia Castelino read the Word of God. The ward members then offered flowers to Mother Mary and sang the hymn "Moriyek Hogolsiyan".
The Gurkar Mr.Mike D'silva thanked the ward members for their relentless support in all the ward activities.
The ward members then proceeded to have the Monthi Fest fellowship meal that they themselves had prepared in order to relish it with their fellow ward members like one big family.
A total of 58 members were present for the Monthi Fest celebration at Kottara Ward.
