Konchady Upper Ward Day Celebration Back

KONCHADY UPPER WARD DAY CELEBRATION

The ward day was celebrated by offering a Thanksgiving mass on the 19^th of November, 2017 at 07.00 AM. Thereafter ward day celebration began at 11.30 AM at the residence of Mr. Joseph Cornelio.

The programme resumed by invoking God's blessings by a prayer dance, led by Ms. Janice and Ms. Delvina.

The dignitaries comprised of our parish priest, Fr. Austin Peres, Fr. Gratian Alvares. Accompanied by the Vice president, Secretary of the parish council, Mr Edward Coelho and Mrs. . Lizzie Fernandes. S.C.C. coordinator and secretary, Mr. Gerald Concessao and Mrs. Teresa D’ Souza also gathered.

The Ward representative Mrs. Gladys Cornelio presented the annual Report. Elderly ward members above the age of 75 were honored by the dignitaries. During the ward day, birthday was celebrated of Fr. Gratian Alvares along with other ward members who also celebrated in the month of November.

Parish Priest in his message stressed on the importance of these programs to increase the spirit of oneness among the ward members and also appreciated the ward for being united and rendering self-less service.

The programme was compered by Mrs. Victoria Cornelio and vote of thanks was delivered by Ward representative Mr. Joy Pinto.

Cultural programme comprised of a konkani song dedicated to all ward members, followed by group, solo and duet dances by children along with kawali and skit.

Prizes were distributed to the winners of spot games. Sumptuous lunch was served after grace before meals. Finally ward day ended with Baila. All the ward members enjoyed the day, filled with great spirit and enthusiasm.
