A Visit to the Orphanage by Chowki Ward
A visit to an orphanage is a life-changing experience as it is filled with emotions and sentiments.
A total of about 34 members along with the Gurkar of Chowki Ward Mr. Ronald Rodrigues and the Secretary of Most Holy Redeemer Church, Derebail Mr. Denzil Pinto paid a visit to Bal Graha Orphanage, Maryhill on 26th February 2023 at 3.30 pm.
The ward members spent nearly one and a half hours with the children and their incharge Sr. Premalatha. The residents of this orphanage are students of studying in primary school. They come from very poor families from North Karnataka. The warmth and friendliness extended to us at the orphanage is also reflected in the manner in which the children are taken care of. The children were very happy.
The children welcomed the ward members with a cheerful smile, prayed for all their intentions, sang and danced.
Mr. Walter Dsouza and Mrs Anjeline Pinto, our ward representative expressed their feelings on behalf of the ward members and wished good luck to all the children in their future endeavours.
Sr. Premalatha expressed her gratitude towards the generosity of ward members and promised to remember them in her prayers.
Snacks and refreshments were served to all the children.
The visit to the orphanage was a fulfilling experience for all the ward members as they returned home with not only memories but also some valuable lessons.
