Good Friday, The second day of paschal Triduum is a day to reflect the Passion and death of Lord Jesus Christ. It is also a day of silence to reflect the last words of Jesus and the seven Sorrows of Mary.

Good Friday ceremony at the Most Holy Redeemer Church, Derebail began at 5:30 PM at the Holy Family School grounds. The entire ceremony consisted of four parts namely, The Word of God, Prayers of the Church, The veneration of the Holy Cross and The Holy Eucharist.

Rev. Fr. Praveen Leo Lasrado, Director of Vocation Centre of St. Joseph Seminary and Rector of Gladsome Home Mangalore in his sermon reflected on the types of crosses we encounter in the form of sufferings. The first one being our Sins, Our Neighbours sins, Our human nature and sufferings because we are the followers of Christ. He explained with various examples of how crosses come in the form of sufferings to people and how one can bear them without desperation.

After the Sermon, The Holy Cross was bought for veneration followed by the Holy Communion. At the end of the ceremony, the statues of the Body of Christ and Our mother of sorrows were brought to the altar, where the faithful prayed and reflected the sacrifice of Christ and the sorrows of Mary.

Throughout the ceremony, the Church choir added a spiritual essence in the form of hymns.

The ceremony ended peacefully, giving everyone a chance to reflect and dwell deeper on their spiritual journey.
