Members of 21 Commissions of Most Holy Redeemer Church Attend Training Session

The training for the selected members of all the Commissions including Parish Pastoral Parishad members and Convenors was held on 21 November, 2021 at 10:00AM at the Meeting Hall in Most Holy Redeemer Church Derebail.

The Vice President Mrs.Sheela D'Souza commenced the training programme with a hymn and the Secretary Mr.Gaulbert Pais led the prayer. The President and the Parish Priest of Derebail Church Rev.Fr. Austin Peter Peris welcomed the gathering and introduced the Resource Person Rev.Fr.Joseph Martis as the Diocesan Coordinator of the 21 Commissions, Mangalore. The Vice President welcomed him with a rose.

Taking charge of the session, Fr.Joseph Martis briefly introduced the 21 Commissions of the Diocese as a Pastoral mission of Jesus, to love, to recognise and help the needy, to fight for our rights and protest against any exploitation that the Christian community would be subject to. He also mentioned that this movement of the commission is a planned and systematic one which must be led by the leaders of the parish. The 21 Commissions are further divided into 21 divisions to lead a pastoral service in the parish and at the diocesan level. The members of the commission were briefed about their roles. The Convenors and Coordinators were informed about their duties. Fr. Joseph Martis also shared the details of the Convenors and Coordinators at the Diocesan Team so that the Convenors and Coordinators could approach them for guidance whenever needed.

At the end of the session, Rev.Fr.Joseph Martis kept the floor open for discussion and questions. He clarified the doubts that were raised and answered all the queries that the members had.

The session was interactive and informative with humor in between. Fr.Joseph Martis requested each commission to conduct atleast two to three programmes in a year's time.

Mr.Edward Coelho, Coordinator, gave the Vote of Thanks and concluded the programme with a hymn. A sumptuous breakfast was arranged for the participants.
