YSD Annual Picnic - 2017/18

It was the day we the members of YSD were eagerly waiting for. After working diligently and tirelessly for the past months we got to relax and have fun as a team.

With uncontained excitement 20 YSD members along with our animator Mrs. Lizzie Fernandes boarded the bus to Coorg on 17^th of February at 04:30 PM from the church premises. Thanking God for his abundant blessings with a short prayer, we were boisterous playing antakshari and dumb charades along the way. Upon reaching our destination at 09:30 PM we relaxed for some time and had our dinner, after which it was time for merriment. The billowing campfire  provided the much needed warmth and we sang and danced around it until the wee hours of morning.

The next morning we were up for a tired but delighted start. After breakfast we visited the St. Sebastian Church at Kushalnagar and then the Tibetan camp at Bylakuppe where some of us wandered off shopping and the others went to visit Namdroling Monastery. After a sumptuous lunch, it was time for rafting on the river Cauvery where we let go of ourselves and played in the water to our heart’s content. By then it was 04:00 PM already and it was time for us to return back home as we had a 5hour long journey ahead of us. Reciting the rosary, watching the Bahubali movie and a quick stop at a tea stall were the things we did on our way back.

The hundred of pictures that we took and the bond that we shared made this picnic a one-off experience and a memorable one.
