Derebail Parish choir group picnic to River Shine

The members of Most Holy Redeemer Church choir group went on a day's picnic on 19th May 2026, at River Shine resort, Mulky. A total of 55 members participated in this outing.

The group assembled at the church grounds at 8.15 AM. The journey began with a short prayer led  by the Assistant Parish Priest Rev Fr. Steevan Nelson Peris, blessings the members  for a joyful and a memorable day. A special bus was arranged. Singing  together on the bus at the beginning added a good start to the day.  

On arrival, breakfast was served, which the members young and old formed 2 batches set out for boat riding. The members took a quick breezy ferry around the resort.  On return, the members dived into a series of fun-filled activities. The exciting games were conducted by the members of the resort. 

The presence and participation of the Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Joseph Martis, Assistant Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Steevan Nelson Peris and Sr. Sunita Pinto in the fun-filled games brought extra joy. Fr. Joseph congratulated the winners n gave away the prizes.
 
The President Mrs  Lydia Dcosta  thanked the organizers of the resort for ensuring 100% support n safety in the resort. 

After a sumptuous lunch, the members spent quality time  playing cricket, badminton, interacting with one another, taking photographs. 

Mr. Edward Coelho conducted Housie Housie and kept everybody energised and engaged. The winners were congratulated and prizes were distributed by Fr. Steevan Nelson Peres. 

The special highlight was the rain dance which delighted the choir members.

The picnic  left  everyone feeling young, energetic and full of cheer.  

Fr. Steevan Nelson's  warm interaction brought joy and laughter encouraging everyone to fully enjoy themselves. 

In the end Mr. Edward Coelho expressed his gratitude to the organizers and thanked each and everyone for their participation. 

After the evening tea break, the group began their return journey at 5.00 pm from the resort  and reached Derebail Parish at 5.45 pm.

Overall the picnic was a memorable and refreshing experience for all the members
