Catholic Sabha Annual Day 

The Annual Day of Catholic Sabha Derebail unit was held on April 15, 2023. The celebration began with a solemn Thanksgiving Mass at 5 pm.

 The celebratory programme was held after the Mass at the Church Meeting Hall. The programme began with a prayer song  by Mrs Jane Machado. President, Mr.Anil Patrao  welcomed the dignitaries on to the dais. Rev. Fr. Joseph Martis, Parish Priest and Spiritual Director of Catholic Sabha,  Rev. Fr. Gerald Francis Pinto, Parish Pastoral Council Vice-president Mrs. Sheela D'Souza, Secretary Mr. Denzil Pinto, Varado President of Catholic Sabha Mr.Colin Miranda and the Coordinator of Commissions, Mr. Edward Coelho were the dignitaries present.
The outgoing President thanked his fellow office bearers for their cooperation during the past year and wished the new office bearers the very best for their tenure. He also called upon the gathering to get more youth involved in church and community activities.

Secretary, Mrs. Juliana Coelho, presented the Annual Report and Treasurer, Mrs. Wilma Monteiro presented the Annual Accounts.

The newly elected Office Bearers for the year 2023-24 took the oath of office and took charge which was conducted by Mr. Colin Miranda. Incumbent President, Mrs Vilma Monteiro,  in her acceptance speech thanked the members for electing her and assured to do her best to uphold their aspirations.

Rev. Fr. Joseph Martis, in his address,  took note of the important role that  Catholic Sabha plays in church affairs and extolled the gathering to continue the good work, not only within the community, but, also beyond the church boundaries,  in the society at large. Mr Colin Miranda,  in his address declared that the Derebail unit has been the best unit in the Varado in the past year and has been very cooperative in all the Varado activities. 

Vice President Mrs. Shaila Noronha delivered  the vote of thanks. Mrs.Helen Menezes compered the programme.

The cultural programme included  energetic dance performances by children and ladies of the parish. A beautiful song was  rendered by the renowned  singer and composer of yester years,  Mr. Gratian D'Souza of Paradelas fame.

The programme concluded with the fellowship dinner.

A total of 150 members were present for the programme.
