Adolescent Mental Health: Special Lecture by Dr.Caroline D'Souza

The Commission for Women along with Women's Association Derebail jointly organised an input session on Adolescent Mental Health on 29 May, 2022 at 4pm. The special lecture was conducted for the parents of adolescent children.

The programme started after refreshment at 4.30pm. The Convener of the programme Mrs.Renita D'costa addressed the gathering and invited the Chief Guest and Guests of Honour to the dias. The programme commenced with a prayer song led by Mrs.Merlyn Mascarenhas and team. Mrs.Mercy Menezes, President Women's Association Derebail welcomed the Chief Guest Rev Fr. Gerald Pinto, Resource Person Dr. Caroline Dsouza, Guests of Honour Sr. Bernice, Mrs Sheela D'Souza, Mr Gaulbert Pais, Mr. Edward Coelho, Mrs Lydia D'costa, Mrs Celine Correa and the entire gathering. The programme was symbolically inaugurated by the lighting the lamp.  

Mrs. Pramila Furtado introduced the Resource Person Dr.Caroline D'souza to the gathering.Dr. Caroline Dsouza took charge of later session on Adolescent Mental Health with power point presentation, explaining with  fluidity in simple Konkani so that the entire gathering could understand. She stressed on the signs, symptoms, causes of problem behaviour in growing children and how it can be tackled. This was followed by a question and answer session. 

As a token of appreciation and gratitude Fr.Gerald Pinto presented the Resource Person with a memento.
Mrs.Gracy D'Souza rendered the vote of thanks.The programme concluded with prayer and blessings from Fr. Gerald Pinto. The programme was indeed a fruitful one. About 125 parents were present for the session.
