For God is always near 

God never asks me to take one step along the way.
But he goes before to guide me day by day. 

He never puts upon me a burden hard to bear 
But he always promises he will the burden share. 

He knows the fear that seeks to wield.
But he promises me fear not I'm your shield. 

Fear not, for he is with me to strengthen, bless, and cheer.
No power on earth can harm me when his presence is near. 

Whatever the task, worry or path may be, May this comfort me 
The Lord whose word can never fail will surely be with me.
