Derebailso Tidodo Dabazo: Sahithik Suvalo 2024: Kavigoshti

As part of "Derebailso Tidodo Dabazo" Celebrations, the Commission for Social Communication, Education and Peace and Justice organized "Kavigoshti": an event where both established and amateur poets of Derebail Parish presented their poems. The event was held on 30 June 2024 at the Parish Meeting Hall at 4.30 p.m.

The dignitaries Rev.Fr.Joseph Martis, Rev.Fr.Kevin Dsouza, Mrs.Sheela Dsouza, Mr.Anil Patrao, Mr.Richie Pereira along with the Chief Guest Mr.Naveen Pereira (Surathkal) graced the occasion.

Mrs. Felcy Lobo, the MC introduced the programme briefly to the audience. The Kavigoshti was inaugurated by Fr. Joseph Martis, who read a short poem from a scroll after which he wished the programme a grand success.

Mr.Naveen Surthkal, the Chief Guest and Mr.Richie Pereira, an accomplished and senior poet from the parish were felicitated on the occasion.

Mr.Richie Pereira along with Ms.Preethan Pereira acted as the moderators for the event and welcomed the poets in batches to present their poems. The programme was indeed an engaging exercise where the poems from poets of all age groups steered excitement among the audience. Poems of different styles and rhyme schemes were presented by about 22 parishioners.

After the recitation, the Chief Guest and poet Mr.Naveen Surathkal gave a few insights on how to read, compose and interpret poems. This session was well conducted.

A small audience poll was conducted and the best poem of the day was given a prize. Ms.Shynel won the hearts of the audience and her poem was recognised as the best. Fr. Joseph Martis announced the results and handed over a special prize to Ms.Shynel.

The Kavigoshti was a grand success.
