Meeting of the Pastoral Commissions at Derebail Church

A meeting of all the Pastoral Commissions of Derebail Parish was held in the Church Hall on Friday, 13th February 2026 at 6.30 in the evening. The meeting began with a prayer seeking God’s guidance for the parish mission.
Rev. Fr. Joseph Martis, the Parish Priest, welcomed the members and gratefully acknowledged that the parish had previously functioned with 21 Commissions, effectively coordinated by Mr. Anil Patrao. He thanked him sincerely for his dedicated service. At present, the parish has 18 Pastoral Commissions, formed according to the present needs of the community.
The Coordinator, Mrs. Pramilla Furtado, requested each Commission to appoint a Secretary and maintain proper records of meetings and activities. Fr. Joseph emphasized that the role of the Commissions is to make the parish active, vibrant, and mission-oriented. While some Commissions function throughout the year, others are encouraged to organize at least one meaningful activity annually. He also encouraged collaboration among related Commissions and harmonious cooperation with parish associations.
All the Coordinators were present. It was an introductory meeting where certain matters were clarified. The members expressed their commitment to actively implement the Parish Pastoral Plan. The meeting concluded at 7:30 p.m.
