Newly Elected Office Bearers of YSD-ICYM take Oath

The oath-taking ceremony for the newly elected office bearers of YSD - ICYM was held on June 29th, 2024, during the mass. The event commenced with a post-exchange ceremony, in the church meeting hall, with Evangel Blessy Menezes as the host. The distinguished guests for the occasion included Rev Fr. Joseph Martis, the parish priest; Assistant Parish Priest Rev Fr Kevin D'Souza; Brother Chinappa; former president Christon Menezes; and former secretary Johanna Pereira.

The ceremony began with a prayer led by Sandrine and Minisha. Christon Menezes then warmly welcomed the guests and the assembly with a rose. Johanna Pereira presented the report for the year 2023-2024, providing a comprehensive overview of the past year's activities. Lordson D'Souza followed with the annual financial report.

Fr. Joseph Martis inspired the youth with his kind and encouraging words, while Fr. Kevin D'Souza also shared a few words of wisdom and extended his best wishes to the new office bearers. A moment of gratitude was then expressed to the outgoing office bearers for their dedicated service over the past year, marked by the presentation of mementos.

The highlight of the ceremony was the symbolic exchange of posts, where the outgoing office bearers handed over their responsibilities to the newly elected ones, accompanied by the exchange of a rose. A special mention was made of Christon Menezes, who was congratulated on being elected as the president of ICYM city deanery and was honored with a shawl by the guests.

Johanna Pereira concluded the meeting with a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all those who contributed to the success of the past year and the ceremony itself. The event concluded with Fr. Kevin blessing the food, followed by the singing of ICYM anthem.
