Honouring Our Guiding Lights : YCS Derebail Unit Celebrates Teacher's Day

Teachers’ Day was celebrated on 6 October 2026 at Most Holy Redeemer Church, Derebail, during the catechism hour at 8:00 a.m. The meeting began with a prayer service led by YCS member Leston, followed by a short session conducted by Animator Mrs. Jonita on the importance of teachers and their role in guiding the younger generation.

As a gesture of love and gratitude, the YCS members prepared a memento of appreciation for the teachers. The members were divided into two groups and visited the catechism classes, where they wished the teachers, read a short poem written by the YCS animators, and presented the memento to each teacher.

The members also expressed their appreciation to the Parish Priest, Assistant Parish Priest and the brothers who guide the children through catechism. The celebration concluded with a group photograph with the Parish Priest, Assistant Parish Priest and Catechism Coordinator.

The celebration was a joyful and meaningful expression of gratitude to all those who teach, guide and inspire the younger generation.
