Derebail Parish Youth Partake in "Yuvotsav"

The members of YSD-ICYM took part in "Yuvostav"- an event that was organized by the City Deanery to bring together the youth of all the 12 parishes under it- on the 24th of October, 2021. The venue for the  programme was Mother of God Church Hall, Shaktinagar. 

About nine members of the YSD-ICYM of Derebail Unit  took part in this interactive and fruitful programme. Following a quick registration the programme commenced at 9.30 AM with a prayer service. The inaugural session then followed. The Chief Guest Mr.Lawrence Menezes then addressed the gathering. The other dignitaries who graced the occasion were Rev.Fr.Gerald D'Souza, Parish Priest of Shaktinagar Church; Rev.Fr. James D'Souza , Vicar Var, St.Peter City Deanery;Rev.Fr.Ashwin Cardoza and Director ICYM Mangalore Diocese.

Following the inaugural, Mr.Madhav Kalyani , the Resource Person for the day , gave an informative talk on Occupational Health Safety (OHS).  

Inorder to keep the youth active and entertained , a few games were conducted by the Core Members from the Central Council. The attendees were divided into five groups for the games. Points were alloted to the teams as per their performance in the games. At the end of the day the results of the games were announced. 

During lunch the youth of various parishes interacted with each other. Groups photos were also clicked.

The Valedictory Ceremony began at about 4.10PM. The youth were thrilled to conclude their day's events with a short baila session. 

The programme was indeed successful as it created a platform for interaction among youth beyond the boundaries of their own parish. The programme was a learning experience that was coupled with fun.
