On Saturday , 18th November 2023, the  Choir Group of Derebail Church celebrated Choir Feast and  presented a unique celebration preceding St. Cecilia's feast day on the 22nd.The vibrant event commenced with a soulful Eucharistic celebration at 5:00 pm, led by Fr. Kevin Lawrence D'Souza, with the melodious touch of the talented senior choir members.

Following the uplifting Mass, the celebration continued at 6:30 pm with a heartwarming get-together, marked by a prayer hymn by  Youth- English choir and a graceful prayer dance from Meghan Menezes - Children's Choir.

A formal stage programme unfolded, gracefully guided by Mrs. Juliana Coelho, the Choir President, along with Mrs. Sunitha Pinto, the Choir Secretary and Mrs. Lydia D'Costa, the Choir Treasurer. The esteemed Guests on the dias were Fr. Kevin Lawrence D'Souza, (Chief Guest), Mr. Denzil Pinto (Secretary of PPP), and Mr. Anil Patrao (Coordinator of 21 Commissions of PPP). The Choir President extended a floral welcome, setting a warm tone for the evening including the guests on Dias, Br.Loywin and Br.Marieswamy Joseph,  Mr.Alwyn Carvalho - Liturgy Commission, the Choir Masters, the musicians, the PPT Members, other guests and Choir Members.

The Choir Secretary, presented an insightful Annual Report  2022-23 and Mrs. Lydia D'Costa, the Treasurer,
 provided a detailed overview of the Annual Accounts.

The esteemed guests addressed the gathering, offering well wishes to the choir members and acknowledging their commendable efforts

The stage came alive with captivating performances, ranging from singing and dancing to engaging mono acts and poetry recitations by the Children's, Youth, English and Senior Choirs.

The festive spirit continued with lively participation in interesting games conducted by Ms. Janice Coelho, English Youth Choir creating an engaging atmosphere for all the audience.

The programme was not just a hit but an immensely enjoyable experience. The members present praised the harmonious blend of spirituality and fun.

In his Presidential remarks, the Chief Guest Fr. Kevin D'Souza complimented on the quality of Derebail Choir which helps the Parishioners to increase their  devotion during the Eucharistic Celebration. He acknowledged the sacrifices that the members make and the services that they offer by singing not only during obligatory Masses and paid Celebrations but also in daily evening Masses. He commended the choir for helping poor families in their celebrations.

Fr. Kevin blessed the Members present and the sumptuous dinner providing a fitting conclusion to the festivities. Gratitude was expressed by Mrs.Sunita Pinto to all contributors for making the event a memorable success.

Janice Coelho compered the entire programme.  A beautiful and creative backdrop was presented by Mr. Eugine Rodrigues - English Choir.

In essence, the Choir Feast of 2023 was a harmonious symphony of spirituality and entertainment.
