YCS Inauguration 2016 Back

A solemn formal inauguration of the YCS unit took place on 26th June 2016, during the Holy Eucharist mass at 9.15 am. The members of the unit walked solemnly into the church and the boys lighted the lamp and girls pierced the roses on the heart, engraved with YCS Letters.

 The newly elected office bearers took their oath in front of the Parish. Rev. Fr Austin Peres (Parish Priest) along with Rev. Fr Walter celebrated the Holy Eucharist. Rev. Fr Austin and Rev. Fr Gratian congratulated the new cabinet. 

This celebration was followed by a get-together for the members of YCS at the Church Mini Hall. The programme began with a prayer song sung by Deora Fernandes and group. YCS president Manish welcomed the guests, Rev.Fr. Austin Peres, Rev Fr.Gracian Alvares, Mr. Edward Coelho, Mr.Micheal D’silva, Mr.Prajwal Sequiera and Mrs. Loretta Anthony.

The inauguration of the unit was marked by lighting the lamps. Rev.Fr. Gracian spoke on the background of youth and their overall development and exhorted the teenager to work towards their aim.  The programme was presided over by Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Austin, who congratulated and thanked the students for responding to the invitation and joining this movement. He also encouraged them to make use of all opportunities provided for the all round development and live as useful member of the society.

The vote of thanks was given by Teena and the M.C. was done by Melnitha.  Master Manish and group organized games, Deora and Group sang action songs.  The youth had a gala time with baila as closure.
