Swachh Andolan Back

As a step to emphasize the need of CLEANLINESS in our day to day life a cleanliness drive was called for by our Bishop most Rev.Dr.Aloysius Paul D'souza. All the parishes under the umbrella of Mangalore Diocese were requested to host and conduct this cleanliness drive on  the 1st of November i.e the day when the people of Karnataka celebrate Kannada Rajyotsava.

The Parishoners of the Most Holy Redeemer Church along with their Parish Priest and Assistant Parish Priest participated  in this campaign with great enthusiasm. Mr Anil Patrao the Vice President of the Parish Pastoral Council welcomed the gathering.Corporator Mr Rajesh, congratulated the Parishners for the voluntary spirit that they  exhibited by coming in large numbers for this good cause of promoting the need to keep our environment and surrounding clean. The Parish Priest , Fr. Peter D'souza began the campaign on a positive note by calling everyone's attention to the age old proverb CLEANLINESS IS NEXT TO GODLINESS. Mr Ullas D'costa , the former Vice President of Parish Pastoral Council rendered the Vote of thanks.

The Swachh Andolan campaign was a grand success as it managed to rope in most of the parishners. The parishners wielded brooms and cleaned roads from Konchady to Kuntikan. The students of St Anns Kuntikan school and Most Holy Redeemer Higher Primary school were also a part of this cleanliness drive. The Swachh Andolan campaign that was coined to pave way for a cleaner and better surrounding, facilitated the possibilities for all the adults, youth and children to work together. The Swachh Andolan ended on a promising note of assurance that one noble thought and the support of many can definitly help us bring about the change  we wish to see .
