Public Awareness Programme by MCF & Catholic Sabha. Back

“Carefulness costs you nothing. Carelessness may cost you your life.” - Safety saying, circa early 1900s.

Bearing this quote in their minds the Mangalore Chemicals and Fertilizers Pvt Ltd (MCF) along with Catholic Sabha, Derebail Unit organized a Public Awareness programme on safety and health for the people of Most Holy Redeemer Parish, Derebail. The programme was organized on Febrauary 21st, 2016 at 10.30 AM. A large crowd gathered for this programme. Breakfast was served. The programme was then initiated by the members of MCF. Mr Marian Navar proceeded the day’s programme.

Ms. Denora Fernandes began the programme with a prayer song. The programme started with a documentary about the MCF company, which showcased the production of their products, the various programmes the company holds , the company's achievements, and their and people’s role in safety and health, in and around the industry. Also necessary safety precautions that were needed were shown in the documentary. Then the programme continued with the inauguration and Question & Answer session. Chief guests were the Parish Administrator of Derebail Parish, Rev Fr Vincent Menezes, Mr K.G. Nanjappa (Dy. Director of Factories, Mangalore), Mr. Prabakar Rao, Director – Works (MCF), Mr. Anil Patrao, the Vice President of Derebail Parish Pastorial Council and Mr Victor Correa, President of Catholic Sabha. Mr. Chethan Mendonca welcomed the gathering. The Question and Answer session was conducted and organized by Mr. Prabakar Rao (Director – Works) and Mr. Jayashankar Rai (GM-HR) along with other members of the team. The public responded with useful questions that made the programme a worth to the public.

The programme ended with a message by the Parish Administrator Fr Vincent Menezes and Mr K.G. Nanjappa. The guests were awarded with gifts from the MCF team. Mr Vincent Pinto rendered the vote of thanks. On display were different equipments used in safety such as safety helmets, ear plugs, gloves, masks, fire extinguishers and so on.
