Mercy Day by YCS Back

“Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.’’ With the fifth beatitude from Mathew’s Gospel as its theme the YCS youth focuses on celebrating God’s mercy in alignment with the holy year of mercy proclaimed by Pope Francis.

Pope Francis says “We are called to look beyond, to focus on the heart in order to see how much generosity everyone is capable of. No one can be excluded from the mercy of God’’.

Fr. Rupesh Madtha director of YCS central committee requested the YCS youth from all the parishes to celebrate Mercy day. In accordance to it our YCS youth had taken the initiative to collect clothes. With the help of our Parish Priest, Asst Parish Priest, Gurkars of the wards and all parishioners with the youth were able to collect clothes and donate to the charity as it’s a reputable cause.

The youth distributed these clothes on 11th October at 4.00 pm to few charitable trust they are Mother Theresa convent, Prashanth Nivas, St Antony Ashram, Snehadeep and White Dove. We also distributed clothes through SVP members.

The main objective of Mercy day celebration was that the youth may inculcate love and concern towards the needy and continue to create meaningful connection and tradition for supporting others throughout their life.

As the saying goes, “The life of a man consists not in seeing visions and in dreaming dreams but in active charity and in willing service”.
