First Holy Communion 2016 Back

The Holy Eucharist is the most important of the seven sacraments because, in this and in no other sacrament, we receive the very body and blood, soul and divinity of Jesus Christ. Innumerable, precious graces come to us through the reception of Holy Communion.

The First Holy Communion ceremony for 20 little children of the Parish was held on the 1st of May 2016 during the 09:15 AM mass. After a lot of preparation to receive Jesus in their hearts the little children looked excited and happy.  Rev Fr Vincent Menezes, the Parish Priest was the Main Celebrant of the mass; the co-celebrants were Rev. Fr.  Walter Pinto, Rev. Fr. Prakash Menezes, Rev. Fr Arogya Britto, Deacon Steeven and Rev.Fr. Anil Lobo, the Assistant Parish Priest.

Watching these kids clad in pure white clothing escorted by their parents to receive their First Holy Communion was indeed a feast to the eye and a source of joy for the heart.

After the Eucharist, all the children were presented with a scapular and a certificate as a remembrance of their First Holy Communion Day.
