Confraternity Sunday 2016 Back

The feast of confraternity (Comprichen Festh) was celebrated with traditional joy and gaiety on 30thOctober at Most Holy Redeemer Church, Derebail. As anticipation for the Parish feast that is on 6thNovember, the entire parish got together in huge numbers on this blessed day. The Eucharistic Celebration began at  4 PM with Rev Fr. Naveen Pinto, as the Main Celebrant. He rendered in his Homily the importance of having a healthy parish community.

The Eucharistic celebration was followed by the procession where the entire parish community, the young and the old took part in it. The musical band, the choir of the parish, the prayerful singing of the parishioners, and the colourful decoration all along the way with quotes from the scripture added magnificence to the entire celebration. Fr. Austin Peres, the Parish priest and Fr. Gratian Alvares, the residential priest along with the leaders of the wards took extra initiative in encouraging the parishioners all along the week in their preparations for this day.

After the procession the parishioners assembled at the church to participate in the Benediction that was again led by Rev. Fr Naveen Pinto. The Annual Parish feast date was then announced to be on the 6th of November. The entire proceeding of the Confraternity Sunday displayed nothing but the immense faith that the parishioners still have in the Church and in the Lord.
