BISHOP'S INTERACTION WITH PARISHIONERS AND ASSOCIATION MEMBERS

As a part of his visitation on Sunday, the 28th of May, 2017, the Bishop of Mangalore Diocese Most Rev Aloysius Paul D’Souza interacted with the Parishioners of Most Holy Redeemer Church at 7.30 A.M. The Bishop was glad to address the parishioners who had gathered in large numbers. He emphasized the need for prayer, education, discipline and service oriented attitude among the Catholic community. He also urged the youth to be active members of the church and also to seek government employment. He stated that it is the youth and their hard work that will help the church to grow. Following this interaction was a mass offered by the Bishop Most Rev Aloysius Paul D’Souza, Fr.Austin Peres and Fr. Gratian Alvares.

On behalf of the parishioners, the Bishop was felicitated by the Parish Priest after mass. This felicitation was followed by meeting between the Bishop and the members of various associations of the parish. The associations comprised of SVP, Senior and Junior CLC, ICYM, YCS, SFC, Altar Boys Association, Legion of Mary and Choir Group. A report of the activities conducted by these associations was presented in front of the Bishop. The Bishop was happy to see the presence of the youth in large numbers in addition to their spirit of commitment towards the church.

The Bishop offered his piece of advice to every association individually and also placed on record his expectations from these associations. The meeting concluded with a hymn.

The Bishop's Visit to the Parish was a fruitful one. The purpose of the visit i.e. to give the Bishop a picture of the life of the parish and give an opportunity to get to know the parish and parishioners in a deeper way was met.
