CHRISTMAS STORY WRITING AND CARD MAKING COMPETITION

‘Christmas brings joy and happiness to everyone alike.’ With the Christmas spirit in the air YSD organised card making and story writing competition for Derebail parishioners on the 17th of December morning. The theme for the competitions was of course ‘Christmas’.

Card making:-The participants were excited and flaunted their creativity with unique designs and ideas thus proving that our parishioners are exceptionally talented. The competition was divided into 5 categories with one hour given to everyone. The judges had a tough time deciding the winners. We had a total of 55 participants for the card making.

Story writing:-To be able to express your thoughts in words is indeed an enviable talent and it was a joy to see 23 participants  all set to write their own Christmas story. We had 4 categories and the duration given was one hour in which they could express their thoughts in Konkani or English.

The visit from Fr. Gratian Alvares boosted the morale of the contestants. The discipline and the friendly camaraderie among the participants proved the point that participation is important than winning.
